Gay Dublin Tours

gDT is a personal project designed to complement the Braliem Jousc Archive project. It blends the developer's journalism background, passion for photography, and fascination with history and the arts to create unique itineraries. These itineraries allow visitors to fully experience Dublin through its heritage, literature, architecture, visual arts, nightlife, and outdoor attractions.

We don’t offer conventional short walking tours. Our main purpose is to immerse you in a genuine, day-long experience while walking and travelling around the city. In our catalogue, you’ll find 17 distinct tours organised into four themes: Day, Night, Outdoor, and Standard.

Another unique feature of Gay Dublin Tours is the limited number of guests per tour: a maximum of three people. We specialise in solo travellers and couples, capping groups at three to ensure a truly personal experience. No more crowded groups! ‘Stop following your guide and enjoy a face-to-face conversation’ is one of our mottos.

At Gay Dublin Tours, you book, and we handle the rest. All our tours include breaks for drinks, a meal, or snacks. Tickets for buses, trams, or trains are included too. When you book with us, you’re getting more than a conventional tour service—we offer an all-in-one personalised option for your visit to Dublin. You’ll find us to be a trip mentor, a gastronomic adviser, a budget planner, a guide for historical interests, an urban photography assistant, and a city walking guru.

Our visual resources set us apart. All the pictures on our website and Instagram are sourced from Braliem Jousc’s personal photography archive. He’s a former journalist who settled in Dublin City after spending 25 years in Latin America, writing for newspapers and magazines about arts, history, and architecture.

Now he spends his days exploring and photographing Dublin. Braliem has devoted himself to documenting the city since 2015 with his trusty, beloved Canon camera. Fascinated—perhaps even obsessed—by images from the 19th and early 20th centuries, he has curated and edited photos of buildings, streets, and places from his collection to resemble shots taken over 100 years ago or to infuse them with a vintage feel reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s, when he received his first camera.

With his photo archive and background, Braliem has crafted all the itineraries for Gay Dublin Tours and leads the tours himself. His project involves processing 2 terabytes of pictures, classifying them, and creating a website to provide public access to the archive. So far, a few pictures are available on the site, but new equipment, an external hard drive for storage, and a professional hosting service are needed to realise this ambitious photography project.

Immerse yourself in the details of Dublin—its history, literature, arts, pubs, and parks. Think of us as an old friend you’re visiting, someone who settled in Dublin long ago and is eager to share the city he now calls home.
