Hay dos canales que atraviezan Dublín: Grand Canal (en el sur) y Royal Canal (norte). Ambos fueron construidos a comienzos del siglo XIX y conectan la ciudad con el Río Shannon, en el este del país. Este recorrido de 11 km es una aventura a pie y en tren que te permitirá admirar la ciudad desde Portobello (sur) hasta Ashtown (norte), haciendo diversas paradas para apreciar ambos canales, el área de los muelles (Docklands) y el río Liffey desembocando en el mar.

Desde la cima de Howth tendrás una de las mejores vistas de Dublín. Esta península está ubicada a tan solo una hora de la ciudad.
