Two canals embrace the city: The Grand Canal to the south and the Royal Canal to the north

Both, the Grand Canal and the Royal Canal, were completed in the early 19th century and connect Dublin with the River Shannon, in the centre of Ireland. 

This 11 km adventure on foot and by train will let you discover the city from Portobello to Ashtown, making several stops to appreciate both canals, the Docklands and the River Liffey.
